We attended a wedding here before, but never stayed. Our room was directly opposite the door from the stairs, other than some rowdy people around 11.30pm it was very quiet. We had a four poster bed in the rom which was very creaky, every time we turned over but the room was large, had everything we needed and a fab Coffee Machine.

Lovely hotel, gorgeous grounds. The staff are so lovely and friendly and really went out their way to ensure we had a good stay.

I am completely this on behalf of my elderly parents who stayed at The Higher Trapp to visit family. I contacted the hotel before arrival to explain that my mother had mobility issues. They responded quickly by phone to talk through the situation. They allocated a room in the annexe so my mother did not have to negotiate stairs. As the annexe is on one level and they could park outside The room was lovely and clean. With good decor and facilities. The room was also well heated. We visited them at the hotel and both the reception staff and bar staff were friendly.We did not use any other facilities

We stayed in the lodge this time which was much better than when we stayed two weeks prior in the actual hotel. Larger room, airy with a larger bathroom. Good breakfast. We didn’t pay for the dogs two weeks previous but wanted to charge this time and when I mentioned the no charge prior they didn’t charge. Overall it is a great hotel with lovely grounds and lovely staff.

The staff are the stars at this accommodation. Very welcoming receptionist and exceptionally pleasant staff at breakfast time. Good buffet breakfast with filtered coffee available, plus hot food cooked to order. We had a pet with us which we're pleased to say was made very welcome, including in the main hotel lounge. The area is rural with excellent views across the valley and good walks possible from the hotel.

Very pleased to have discovered this hotel. Very comfortable bed, room size more than adequate for our one night stay. Very nice en-suite bathroom, clean and with a few toiletries such as soap, shower gel provided; also lovely fluffy white towels! Excellent breakfast with huge choice to cater for all tastes. Lovely countryside location away from traffic, plenty of parking spaces. Particularly nice to be welcomed by cheerful, polite and helpful concierge on our (very) late arrival and then to find a selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate drinks in our room.

Hotel was easy to find. It was a comfy hotel with a nice outlook over the garden and distant hills if you were lucky enough to have a room on that side. We had an enormous family room at the rear. Very quiet hotel. Breakfast was very good and all the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a comfortable one night stay after a family wedding in the area.

The location was perfect as we were attending a family funeral at the Burnley Crematorium. We paid for breakfast and this allowed us the freedom to relax stress free a couple of days beforehand.
